12 v Boot Socket

Here is my guide to installing a 12 v socket in the boot of my Gen 6 GT, dont think this would be Gen specific as the prinsiples are the same.

Hope this proves usefull to anyone wanting to do the same.

5mtrs 8 Gauge 1 in line fuse holder 1 x 5 40 amp fuse 1 x 2 large circular connector (Battery & Earth) 1 pack female push on connectors (for 12v socket) 1 compression connector (went through L/H steering shaft cut out)

Step 1 Remove Passenger Side Scuff Plate Step 2 Remove Trim under Glove Compartment Step 3 Remove Trim by Seat Pillar Step 4 Remove N/S Boot Liner Step 5 Feed power cable from boot through to N/S foot well and then through to engine bay Step 6 wire in in line fuse and fix to body work as close to batter as poss Step 7 Wire from in line fuse to battery Step 8 Drill hole in N/S rear boot panel to locate 12 v socket and install socket (ensure there is enough clearence behind the trim) Step 8 Connect power to + terminal & connect earth to body work Step 9 Reinstall trim etc

Install was pretty easy but at times fidely but managed it ok.
