ok a couple of members have mentioned that it would be worth while me creating a wiki for the JDM light conversion... here it is
this works for both the GT and GT4 unsure of the ST wiring designations
Shopping List:-
- 2x 12/24v 3w diodes
- Soldering Iron and Solder
- Heat Shrink Sleeving
- 2x Stop/Tail Bulb holders from Mr T (or modify your existing bulb holders to accomodate a twin pole bulb)(ill have a look for some part numbers when i can get my other computer sorted)
- side cutters
- wire strippers
Method:-
- remove the rear and drivers side boot casings
- this will reveal the wiring harness for the rear light clusters than runs along the rear wing. you will see that the harness goes through the a-frame above the suspention turret
- remove both multiplugs and on the larger one, seperate the solid red and the green/white wires from the rest of the loom and cut both of them.
- wire in your diodes like this

- once youve done that refit the wiring and put the boot casings back in
- remove rear light clusters
- remove all the bulb holders to enable room to work put you clusters in a safe place
- cut the fog bulb holder off and wire in your new one ensuring that the fog feed is feeding the 21w side of your bulb and the fog ground is connected to your twinpole holder ground.
- now patch a feed from your tail lights into the 5w side of your twinpole bulb holder.
- test for operation of tails, stops and fogs
- refit the bulb holders into your light clusters and now you should have 4 tails and 4 stops, and when the fogs are on you should have 2 tails and 2 stops
the finished result should look like this
Tails
