Regular Checks

Weekly is recommended:

  1. Engine oil level
  2. Coolant level
  3. Battery electrolyte levels
  4. Brake and Clutch fluid levels
  5. Operation of headlights, sidelights, indicators and stop lights
  6. Operation of windscreen wipers, washers, and fluid level
  7. Tyres and pressures
  8. Run Air Conditioning MONTHLY. (The A/C system should be operated for a short period, monthly, to prevent sticking of internal moving parts.)

Service Schedule A

Multiples of 9,000 miles:

  1. Check drive belts for wear and deflection. Replace timing belt at 63,000 mile intervals
  2. Change engine oil (Check for leaks)
  3. Replace Oil filter
  4. Check heater and cooling system, oil cooler and all fuel pipes, tank cap, hoses and connections for leaks.
  5. Check coolant level. Replace at 36,000 mile intervals (earlier if contaminated)
  6. Check exhaust system and mountings for security and leakage.
  7. Check spark plugs - replace at 18,000 miles (platinum at every 63,000 miles)
  8. Check battery electrolyte levels and terminals for security.
  9. Check air filter.
  10. Check fuel vapour control valve
  11. Check engine idle, co emission and choke
  12. Check brake pedal free play and handbrake travel
  13. check brake pads / disks / linings and drums, clean out dust.
  14. Check level and condition of brake fluid, replace every 24 months or earlier if contaminated.
  15. Check clutch fluid level.
  16. Check brake system pipes; hoses; and connections.
  17. Check steering wheel free play and linkage for wear and security, inc. 4 wheel alignment.
  18. Check ball joints and dust covers.
  19. Check diff and power steering oil levels for leaks and top up.
  20. Check gearbox fluid for leaks, replace every 36,000
  21. Check transfer box oil (if applicable, replace fluid 36,000)
  22. Check front and rear suspension
  23. Tighten bolts on chassis and body.
  24. Check all electrics
  25. Check all lights
  26. Check wipers and fluid.
  27. Check tyres.
  28. Check body for scratches.
  29. Lubricate locks / hinges
  30. Replace battery in alarm fob
  31. Check seat belts.
  32. Road test.

Check means check and report. Adjust as needed.

Service Schedule B

Multiples of 27,000 miles:
