The first thing when fitting the unit is to open the boot and fit the top mounts they silply slide through on the outerside of the hinges. Photos below;

Once fitted you will close the boot, NOTE: you can not open the boot from this point on!

*with the boot lid close insert the side clips, this simply clips around the boot lid, it is coated so no damage will be done.

*fit the lower mounts, this is where it looks like this was designed for the car, you will notice under the car there is a hole just where you need it to be. The metal loops on the nylon strap fit in here and are very secure! do this on both sides.

*Open the rack to fit and attack straps to according clips, do not tighten until they are all on then start to centre the rack by tightening the straps.

NOTE; the lower part of the rack should sit nicely below your number plate.

Place your bike on then tighten all the straps and tie up. stand back and look, then its time for some fast down hill action :)

This fitment of the universal halfords bike rack on the G7.

There are 6 mounting points for this unit, it has

  • Two top mounts
  • Two side mounts
  • Two lower mounts
  • The first thing when fitting the unit is to open the boot and fit the top mounts they simply slide through on the outer side of the hinges. Photos below;
